Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Yes man

Shaelyn has recently learned how to feed herself, which she thinks is way more fun than having you feed her. As a result, she's not so keen on being fed with a spoon - she wants to feed herself with the spoon, too! This results in very messy mealtimes and almost daily baths. She has graduated to "big girl" baths, which means that she takes a bath in the tub without her baby tub. She LOVES it, and doesn't try to stand up in the tub as much anymore. She can crawl through the water and loves to play with her floatable letters.

One of the cutest new things she has learned is how to nod her head. I don't think she actually knows that it means "yes" yet, but she nods her head whenever she likes something, especially the food she's eating. She loves Cheerios - they make her nod a lot!
