Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Inspired

A few months ago I wrote a post about a complete stranger's blog and how much it inspires me. I continue to be inspired by it - the artistry, the content, all the talent this unknown stranger posesses. It's great to find people that inspire you.

So my BFF has four kids and has been my inspiration for a long time. As long as I've known her. And I've been begging her to blog. Mainly because I miss her and want to see what all is going on in her life on a more consistent basis (because you try to keep up on each other's lives over the phone with 5 screaming kids - 4 hers, 1 mine - and a 3 hour time zone difference). But also because she inspires me, and I knew her blog would too. She had all the excuses - busy schedule with the kids, "But I journal every night, Shelley. How can I journal and blog too?" (yeah, that's my excuse too - told you she's amazing), it's so cliche, blah, blah, blah.

She called me today. She told me she had big news. I thought she was pregnant with number 5. She announced the birth of her blog. You've gotta check it out. Believe me when I tell you, you need your daily grapefruit. You will be inspired.
