Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

2 Down!

I have two items crossed off my to-do list!! I finished Shaelyn's curtains and planned her birthday party. And today we're painting the furniture. So I'm making some progress.

I'm so excited with how the curtains turned out, so I wanted to share them with you. I think they go with the room really well and look very feminine. They are in the style of Roman shades, with ribbons to hold up the curtains when we want to let the sunshine in. I love the way the ribbons look when it's all tied up. When the curtains are down, they block out the light so she can sleep in the darkness that she loves. Remember, I'm still a very novice seamstress, so you will probably notice some imperfections, but I'm pleased they turned out so well without a pattern.

Thanks, Mom, for helping me out over the phone! You're the best!!
