Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

You want it, you got it

I know you all have been checking the blog everyday, several times in fact, to read more of my amazing stories. Ok, I know, it's only so you can see pictures of Rachelle. Sorry to keep you waiting.

As for the update, we are doing well. As well as is to be expected when your toddler is crazy and your husband is locked away in the bedroom totally quarantined because he has an illness that could kill your newborn. Today was a good day, though. Shaelyn seems to be more herself, and Michael is feeling better - at least now functioning at 75% he says. Thank goodness Rachelle is such an easy baby.

Shaelyn has always been a high-maintenance child. Fun, energetic, super-intelligent, but majorly high-maintenance. She was the baby that could never be put down, always had to be rocked or moved, and never, NEVER could be restrained in any form (swaddling, car seat, crib, you name it...). So it is a totally new experience for me to have a child that never cries, is fine not being held, doesn't mind people poking, prodding, or manipulating her, and LOVES being swaddled and confined. Night and day. And with all the struggles I'm having with Shaelyn's high energy (which = insane defiance and crazy tantrums), I'm grateful to have a mellow child. I'm calling her my angel baby.

So here she is. Click HERE to see a slideshow of her first few days of life.
