Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Leaf Harvesting

My dad was here one year to witness the most unusual tradition that Michael and I have begun practicing since living in our home.

Leaf Harvesting.

My dad's commentary?

"I think before people get married they need to ask themselves three vital questions:
1) What are we going to do to earn money?
2) How many children are we going to have?
3) Do you think leaf harvesting is a good idea, or a bad idea?"

He also said, "The funny thing isn't that you come out here and rip the leaves off your trees one by one. The funny thing is that one day, one of you said to the other one, 'Let's go rip all the leaves off our trees!' and the other person said, 'Sounds like a great idea!'"

But seriously, wouldn't you do the same?

People have asked me how long our trees would stay looking like that if we didn't harvest them. Here's a post from March - MARCH, people!
