Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Living in a Preschool House

When you run a preschool out of your house, there are just some things that are inevitable.

You will always have finger prints everywhere. On everything.

Your family room will always look like a 3-year-old decorated it.

Your household chores, which you were never good at completing before, will come to an utter stand-still.

You will find the oddest things in the strangest places - like your makeup mirror in your daughter's school cubby.

You will stop being horrified to find stains on your rug, chipping paint on your TV console, and stickers stuck all over your end-table-functioning-as-a-3-year-old-work-table. (Let's be honest, were you ever really horrified about finding these things before?)

You will never have enough glue sticks, masking tape, yarn, or empty toilet paper rolls.

But you will never, never regret the decision. Because you will never get enough of this

or this

or this.

And seeing your daughter's enthusiasm for learning, her little mind process new information, her world around her opening up for the very first time - well, that makes it all worth it.

Love my Valentine's girls!
