Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Daily Journal - April 2010

Tuesday, April 20th
RACHELLE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE LAST NIGHT!!! (8:30 PM TO 8:30 AM)
But, because I'm not allowed to ever sleep through the night again myself, Shaelyn woke up and came in our room twice.
Other news: Rachelle came down the stairs like a big girl today. Not crawling, WALKING down (holding on to the banister spindles). She made it all the way down this way by herself!

Monday, April 19th
I constantly have dirt under my fingernails as I try to reclaim our garden bed. Status of plants: broccoli, lettuce, beans, and peas have all sprouted.

Saturday, April 17th
Shaelyn went to her friend's ballet recital today. And now it is as if she were in the recital. She wears her ballet shoes and tutu everywhere. She tells me what her costume looked like in the recital. (Her friend was a mouse.) And she says "Next time they're all going to clap for me!"
I'm excited about this because now Shaelyn is SUPER EXCITED to take the ballet class I'm teaching this summer.

Sunday, April 11th
Started the "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus Project" tonight with Shaelyn. We'll see how it goes. As for tonight, she was EXCITED! We started with who Jesus was before he came to earth - Jehovah - and how he volunteered to be our Savior.
