Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

4 Cows and a Princess

After an excellent discussion with my parents on the subject, I've decided to let Rachelle win the battle and wear her princesses dresses EVERYWHERE, just the way she wants. Because as my dad so wisely said, "Just because she wins this battle doesn't mean she wins the war!"

So who cares if she would have made the cutest 2-year-old cow on the planet. Or that I had already put her costume together for her. Or that it would have made for such an awesome family photo op.

Because a 2-year-old Cinderella cow is even cuter. And it makes for an even better family photo - one where you can look back and remember the headache, I mean joy, of the "princess phase."

Food never tastes as good as it does when it is free.

And nursing when you and your baby are dressed as cows has got to be one of the funniest things you can do as a "new mom."
