Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Miss Lilly and Angelina

Once upon a time, there was a mouse. Her name was Lilly, and she loved to dance. She also loved to dress up like a gypsy and speak with an unexplained Russian accent.

Lilly grew up and wanted to pass on her love of dance to other little mice. She opened Miss Lilly's Dance School and started teaching young mice to love dance as well.

She had many students - Alice, Penelope, Priscilla, and even little Henry. But Angelina was her favorite. And soon she became known as Angelina Ballerina.

Angelina somehow always managed to get a leotard and tutu on over her big mouse ears and her little mouse tail. She always wore a pink bow. This was so the other mice would know it was her - because Alice wore green and Penelope and Priscilla wore blue and purple. (It was part of the unspoken ballerina-mouse code.)

Angelina, under Miss Lilly's tutelage, learned about pliƩs and tendus. She learned how to sit up nice and tall like a giraffe, even if she was just a tiny mouse. She learned how to remember choreography and dance nicely with her other mice friends. (Even though Penelope and Priscilla don't always dance nicely with her.)

And sometimes Miss Lilly invited Angelina's mommy and daddy to come watch her perform some new things she had learned.

Miss Lilly called this a dance recital.

Angelina Ballerina was very excited to perform!
