Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Going to church

Today was our second Sunday since Shaelyn was born attending our full block of meetings and we continue to be amazed that she is so good through all of church. We know that won't last for long, but for the time being we are one of the very few minority of parents who can sit with a child in sacrament meeting and still hear all the talks. I take that back... We are so mesmerized by every little thing that Shaelyn does, we spend half the time just staring at her. Plus, she's always so cute in her little Sunday dresses! I have included two pictures of Shaelyn in her Sunday best. Her Grammy got her these dresses, and I must say, Grammy has good taste! (Shaelyn thinks so too.) We have decided that we will have to document the first time we have to take Shaelyn out of sacrament meeting for being fussy. Hopefully that will be a long time from now.
Today was also the first time that Michael took her to Elders' Quorum. I felt sad at first going to Relief Society without her, but it was great to listen fully to the lesson! Plus, it gave all the men a chance to ogle over her, and gives Michael a chance to be a proud papa!
