Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Aagard children sing as they walk and walk and walk...

So I have had several requests to show Shaelyn walking. The only trouble is that you have to catch her walking when she doesn't know you're catching her, because as soon as she sees that camera, she starts crawling to get to it! We finally caught a lengthy little stroll today. As you can see, Shaelyn is very steady and deliberate with her steps. She's going to be a dancer with that excellent center control!

When we went down to Pensacola to visit my Paw Paw (I know, I'm so behind on my blogging...), my Paw Paw gave Shaelyn a new toy - now her favorite! A "walker car". She pushes that thing everywhere and dances to the music it plays. If she could take a bath with it, she would. Anyway, I think that the car really helped her to figure out how to put one foot in front of the other and have the confidence to take that first step! Here she is playing with her new and improved car (remember that diaper box we would pull her around in...):

The car has a hood that lifts up so you can take the blocks out that you can sort into the hood. Shaelyn soon discovered that other things will fit into the hood too... I have found crackers, remotes, my cell phone, and other toys in that hood. What a good hiding place! She also figured out that she can "stuff" things that might be too big into the hood.

Once she figured out she could stuff that bunny into the hood, she decided to try for a tighter space...

Is she training for a future in the mafia or something? Scary!
