Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Birthdays Abound!

I know there are many of you out there in the west that can't wait to see pictures of Shaelyn's birthday celebrations. These pictures are coming, I promise. But first I have something even more exciting to announce....

My newest nephew has joined our family!!!

Samuel David Banks
Born December 17, 2007 at 4:12 AM
7 lbs. 15 oz.
20" long

My sister and her husband live in Phoenix and are absolutely thrilled! My sister's water broke on Saturday, but little David wasn't born until early this morning. It was a long process for my sister and we are very grateful David is here safe and sound. My sister told me he was a "big" baby, but I laughed because he is only just shy of 8 pounds. But now that I've seen the picture, I agree. He doesn't look like a newborn - he looks as filled out as Shaelyn did when she was 4 weeks old! I can't wait to hold him. I hate that my sister lives so far away!

Congratulations Shannon and Sam!
