Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Mini-Me

My mom kept some of my clothes from when I was a little girl and has returned them to me so my girls can wear them. It's so fun to see Shaelyn in clothes that I remember (more from pictures than actual memory - I was pretty young when I wore these clothes!). Shaelyn looks so much like I did when I was her age - feathery, cornsilk hair, big blue eyes, petite frame, upward-curving nose - that sometimes I feel like I'm getting a glimpse as to what motherhood must have looked like for my mother. And when Shaelyn wears my clothes, especially these favorite overalls of mine, I feel like she's a living photograph of me when I was about 2. All she needs to do is carry around a Big Bird doll instead of Super, and it could be me!

Mom, these overalls have grapes on them. My favorite!

Watching Super Why! My hair looks exactly like my Mommy's did.

I make a mess everywhere I go. Don't I look like such a toddler?

Mom asked me to smile, and I shocked her because I actually did!
