Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Happy Birthday to Mommy

3 weeks ago Shaelyn discovered something new she could make with her Clipo block and an orange golf tee:

Birthday Cake!!

She proudly brought it to me and serenaded me with a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday" - all of her own volition. (I had to coerce her into singing it again so I could get it on tape...) She also instructed me to blow out the candle.

So today is my actual birthday. But I don't think I could get anything sweeter than this Clipo cake, golf tee candle, and original song.
