I love listening to Michael play with the girls. This morning he was teaching them the finer points of basketball. I got to hear him explain things to Shaelyn, like assists, fade-away shots, dunking, rebounding, passing, and stealing.
Shaelyn ate up every word he said.
Once he felt Shaelyn understood the basics of the game, Michael started a running commentary of the action. I got to hear such gems as:
"Shaelyn has 10 assists to Daddy. She's turning into a real Chris Paul."
"Oh! Shaelyn throws it away to the opposing team! (She missed a shot and Rachelle scooped the ball up.) But she quickly steals the ball back! (Tears ensued.)"
"Pass it here! Pass it here! Shaelyn turns into a ball hog and refuses to pass to Daddy. And pulls a Kobe - shooting repeatedly without making a single shot!"
Shaelyn squealed and laughed as she ran and panted for breath. Rachelle watched on, shaking her head back and forth and shrieking with delight.
And I was able to fold laundry without little hands and feet trying to offer their assistance.
We sure do love having Daddy home.
