Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

This is what happens . . .

. . . when you're too sick to parent.


(To be clear, the girls are sick too. Just obviously not as sick as I am. Or sickness just brings out their destructive side. Who am I kidding?!)
We've missed a fun pool playdate, a Saturday night Mommy/Daddy date, and Rachelle's first "Nursery Sunday."

Oh, and the majority of the ward got to endure my snotty nose blowing during Sunday School. I'm sure they were all so happy I showed up today.

Well, once they realize that they could have been called on last-minute to fill in for me, then they'll be happy.
