Shaelyn has started eating more adventurous foods lately. She now likes anything that is pasta based (including some fancy Bertolli pastas with sophisticated sauces), anything cheesy, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (also new - she loves peanut butter!) and most recently - chicken nuggets! Michael and I treated ourselves to some Wendy's the other night. Since Shaelyn is now almost 1 and getting her fifth tooth, I figured she could try something simple off the kids' menu. I got her chicken nuggets and a Frosty. She gobbled up the nuggets. Then we went for the Frosty. Of course she loved that too!
The cutest thing about her new eating experiences is that she likes to say "mmmm" after she eats something really yummy. I started saying "mmmm" every time I gave her a new food to entice her to try it, and now she she says it all by herself.
My other new favorite thing Shaelyn does is her "imitation talking". She likes to blabber on and on about everything - her toys, what she's looking at, what she dreamed about during her naps, what's she's eating - whatever. I love hearing her little voice and think it is hilarious that this is how language is learned. It reminds me of when I was learning French and would just make up words that sounded French and hope that nobody would notice. But I guarantee I wasn't this cute when I was doing that.
