Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. . . . She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her. . . . Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight.

Mini Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper had it right. Girls really do wanna have fun. And Shaelyn's idea of fun is washing her hands. For 30 minutes. Because washing your hands involves water. And soap. Two of Shaelyn's favorite things to play with. If I let her, she would play in the sink all day. And then we'd have to invest in a wet/dry vac to make sure she didn't completely flood the house.

Shaelyn inherited these adorable blue jammies from her cousin. They are one of my favorite things on her because the light blue just looks so great with her coloring. The other day, she was squirming as I pulled her hair back in a ponytail, so it turned into a Deb side-ponytail. But for some reason it made me think of Cyndi. I thought she was adorable, and I even coerced her into saying "I'm Cyndi Lauper." But of course she didn't say it once I turned the video camera on.
